Tiger Saw The ever-changing collective Tiger Saw was founded in Newburyport, MA in 1999 by Dylan Metrano. Over five albums, they’ve explored a beautiful, hushed, slowcore sound; indie pop sing-alongs; and “basement soul”, a DIY take on soul / rhythm & blues. Numerous collaborators have performed with the band- Tigers on Fire features Dirty Projectors’ Angel Deradoorian and Nat Baldwin, White Hinterland’s Casey Dienel, and Deer Tick’s John McCauley, among many others. Tiger Saw has performed it’s original scores alongside the silent films Nosferatu and The Adventures of Prince Achmed, and has collaborated with Exit Dance Theater. In 2009, Dylan Metrano’s book All My Friends Are Right Here With Me: A Decade in the Indie Rock Underground, an oral history of Tiger Saw and its community of friends was published by Burst & Bloom Press. Tiger Saw has toured extensively on three continents and is known for playing unorthodox venues from beach bonfires to treetop sing-alongs, as well as basements and barrooms from coast to coast. Tiger Saw has performed over 900 shows with many bands, including Grizzly Bear, Explosions in the Sky, Kimya Dawson, Jens Lekman, Magnolia Electric Co., The Gossip, and Man Man.

Tiger Saw’s sixth album, “Horn Hill“, recorded over the winter on Monhegan Island, ten miles off the coast of Maine, was released in November 2015.

2018 will see the release of the Tiger Saw funk album, “The Featherweight“.
