Eastern Mountain Time is sort of a country band based in Burlington, Vermont. Originally intended to be the moniker under which songwriter Sean Hood (Sean Hood & the Great Outdoors, Hello Shark) would perform solo shows and release folk albums, it wasn’t long before Eastern Mountain Time became a kind of steady, four-piece almost rock band. Only one record, 2013’s “Really Comin’ Down”, was released before bassist Sam Bevet (Fridge & the Spins), drummer Alex Decato (Hello Shark), and guitarist Henry Webb (Drawing, Gloaming) began joining Hood on stage for shows regularly. In the spring of 2014 Eastern Mountain Time spent 48 hours in Burlington’s Park Hill Studio recording their first full-length record as a band, done primarily live in the studio with minimal overdubs and/or fussing. The result is a raw, sometimes frenetic and sometimes stable interpretation of Eastern Mountain Time’s live show. And it’s not bad.
